A Typical Child Sex Molester
Sorry, but they can be anyone, and no one thing makes them typical other than the molestation itself. They can be anyone. Anyone at all can be a child sex molester. You may:
- Live with one,
- Live next door to one,
- Work with one,
- Be related to one,
- Belong to the same church as one.
Generally a molester will automatically recognise a child who is susceptible to becoming a victim of his machinations.
You can not tell that someone is a child molester, regardless of what some would have you believe.
Searching for 'patterns' to identify a perpetrator is BS. Don't you think the job of the authorities would be a whole lot easier if they could identify child molesters?
Molestation of a Boy
The majority of times it is an outside perpetrator that will abuse a boy. Generally another male adult, older sibling, or older boys he may know, will be the child sex molester. However a female can be the abuser. This can happen anywhere at any time.
It depends on:
- How old the boy is,
- The age of the female,
- Who the perpetrator is,
as to whether he is traumatized, or views it as a sexual conquest.
Mother-Son Incest
Mother-Son Incest, whilst harmful is not as common as father daughter incest, or so we think. There will be many cases that never come to light.
More than likely there was a lot of coercion (as with most cases of incest) and seduction involved in this sexual abuse. The following could be the cause:
- The mother is divorced or estranged from her husband
- The husband could be ill or disabled
- He may be absent from the home, through work, or any other reason
- She is looking for the comfort of a male
- She wants sexual gratification and replaces the no longer husband with the son
More than likely
- She has severe emotional problems
- Is an alcoholic
- Or has her own child sex abuse issues that are unresolved
Whilst the above are possibilities, it is extremely rare for this type of incest relationship to occur whilst the husband is still around. This relationship is also nowhere near as common as father daughter incest.
Molestation of a Girl
A girl can be abused by male or female, however generally it is a male perpetrator. Sometimes a female (ie wife, girlfriend or sister) may participate or encourage it even if not physically involved.
That doesn't mean a female would never be the perpetrator on her own, it is just not generally so.
A father or other family member, is many times the abuser.
Sibling Incest
Sibling sexual abuse, particular Brother-Sister Incest unfortunately is not rare. In fact research shows this is more common than father daughter incest. Yes there are times when siblings experimenting together is a consentual occurance, however there are far too many cases where an older sibling, usually the brother, has taken sexual advantage of a sibling, brother or sister.
Father - Daughter Incest
Father-Daughter Incest
, out of all immediate family cases of sexual abuse, is the one most often heard about. When a girl is abused by her father the following could be the cause:
- the father is divorced or estranged from his wife
- the wife could be ill or disabled
- she may be absent from the home, through work, or any other reason
- she could be pregnant possibly unable or unwilling, or inadequate in fulfilling the sexual desires of the husband
- it is possible she holding nothing back in the marital bed, and he has preferences for children
- she could be strictly religious as could her husband, but the rigid code by which they live may fuel a breakout from the repression.
Many times
- He will be an alcoholic
In any or in all of these cases the husband could be replacing the wife with the daughter. This can happen slowly or straight away.
Father - Son Incest
Father-Son Incest
is rare, however it does happen. The effects on the victim are extremely traumatic. The son not only has to suffer the effects of sexual abuse. He has the added trauma, that the man who is supposed to teach him how to be a man, to protect and love him no matter what, has broken that trust and bond.
He has the trauma of dealing with a homosexual act which was forced on him. The shame and guilt he is feeling will in most cases be more than he can bear, and yet it was never his fault. He will face issues of homosexuality, whether he becomes homosexual or not.
Mother - daughter Incest
Mother-Daughter Sexual Abuse
whilst rare, does happen although the extent of this is unknown as there is little research or reporting.
Extreme maternal narcissism, a great deal of manipulation, coercion and control are involved. And just as with all incest, this situation is very difficult for the victim to deal with, especially as she becomes an adult. She also has to face the same fears and traumas that a father son incest victim has to deal with.
The bond that should be with mother and daughter, is broken just as with all incest situations and as much as they may want to repair the relationship as an adult, there will never be trust.
Will the Cycle Continue?
Whilst there are some victims of csa who become perpetrators, this is not anywhere near what some would have you believe. Studies have shown that aprox 90% of women and 60% of males break the cycle.
If victims problems were addressed and they were helped through recovery from a young age, these figures would be a lot lower.
